The Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Ceremony
Some weddings are small in numbers but big in character. Sarah and Jaffer chose to wed in an intimate Old Marylebone Town Hall wedding ceremony with only 18 of their closest family and friends present. Despite keeping things small, they did not hold back when it came to celebrating. They held not one but two receptions on two separate days.
One of the most iconic venues in London, the Old Marylebone Town Hall has hosted many weddings across the years, including ones of celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney. Its newly renovated rooms provide a beautiful setting for a London registry wedding. The imposing, grade II listed building also serves as a stunning backdrop for wedding portraits.
Having a smaller number of guests provided a wonderful intimacy to Sarah & Jaffer’s heartfelt ceremony. There was plenty of laughter thanks to Jaffer’s two older brothers. They made sure the day was anything but boring. After the ceremony, we made the most of this beautiful autumn day and captured some portraits with the couple on the iconic steps as well as on the streets nearby.
Two Wedding Receptions
I am a big fan of couples who tailor their wedding to their own wishes and ideas. Sarah and Jaffer opted for two separate receptions, both pretty small but full of class.
On their wedding day, they took their guests for a relaxed meal at the renown Aldwych restaurant, The Delaunay.
A few days later they held a separate evening celebration for family and friends in Chelsea, in the neighbourhood favourite, Daphne’s. Its conservatory private dining room was beautifully set up for the occasion and the guests were mingling to the sounds of a harp while sipping cocktails. It was another beautifully relaxed affair, exactly as Sarah and Jaffer had hoped for.
Here are a few of my favourite pictures from their intimate London wedding at The Old Marylebone Town Hall.
