My first ever trip to Wales was to shoot Kate and Joe’s wedding. A 3 hour drive from London brought me to the welsh countryside, where the phone signal was scarce and consonants were aplenty. Just outside one of the villages I found Glangrwyney Court, a beautiful estate where the wedding was to be held. I was wondering what made them come all the way to Wales for a wedding, knowing that they, and Kate’s family, live in and around London. They told me that Joe’s family lives much further up north and they wanted to find a nice spot where they could all meet half way and make a family break out of it. South Wales seemed to be the perfect choice considering they met while studying at Cardiff University.
They all arrived to Glangrwyney Court the day before, which made for a perfectly relaxing day, having the ceremony and reception room a mere minutes walk away. Kate and Joe both come from large families and they are both very close to their siblings but what is more amazing is the fact that Kate is one of quadruplets. Her quad brother and sisters were there every minute of the day to support her and it was only natural that she wanted them next to her when she was getting ready for her big moment.
From the relaxing atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and vintage details to the bold colour scheme, this wedding was a photographer’s dream. But aside from that, Kate and Joe are just the sweetest couple, very much in love, who enjoyed an incredible day filled with tears and laughter among their families and friends.
