I know I still have a lot of the world to see but even from my limited experiences, Cape Town has got to be one of world’s most fotogenic cities. I have visited there several times now and it never gets old. The beaches, the Table mountain, the spectacular views, I love it all.
I love nothing more than combining my great passion for traveling and the beautiful outdoors with a photo session. It all aligned in Cape Town when I met locals Angela and Nick, who both travel extensively around the world and are always up for an adventure. At the time they were in the early stages of expecting their first baby, so we wanted to capture this transition into a new season for them as a family. We wanted to take the advantage of beautiful views that Cape Town offers and one late afternoon Nick took us walking off the beaten path, away from all the tourists, to a small ledge half way up Table Mountain. Angela was feeling the effects of early pregnancy and she was a real trooper walking up the mountain. When we got to the ledge, we just took it easy and watched the sun set and shot these relaxed images that they later used as pregnancy announcements. We stayed up there until the last of the light was gone and we had to walk back down in the dark with the help of our phone lights. It’s absolutely been one of my favorite couple sessions to date.
